Urgent Earthquake Relief

Earthquake death toll crosses 50,000 According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 23 million people across earthquake-ravaged Syria and Turkiye are at risk of facing a “secondary disaster” if they don’t receive adequate aid soon. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “The believers in their mutual mercy, love, and compassion are like a single body, when one limb is in pain the rest of the body joins in insomnia, fever, and restlessness.” (Source: Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 6011)

 Basmah is sponsoring Inisiyatif, a local organization in the grounds of Turkey-based out of the city, of Ankara, which is responding by providing immediate aid to families affected by the earthquake. Basmah is currently sponsoring a Soup Kitchen in Hatay, one of the affected cities where many have been displaced, to provide hot meals and regularly feed those in need who have no power, gasoline, or any way to prepare food for themselves and are suffering in the cold weather after losing their homes and shelters. One of the organizations among Basmah’s partners is the Syrian Forum USA. By partnering together, Basmah was able to

 immediately provide aid to the displaced victims in Northern Syria by creating temporary shelters for them. This provided a safe place for them for relocation and ensured that they are taken care of until they can recover and move on from this horrifying chapter of their lives. These are no longer victims, they are survivors with hopes for a better future. Without the integrity of Syrian Forum USA, Basmah would not have been able to accomplish this noble deed. We are grateful for this amazing collaboration and we intend to enable each other to change lives beyond our reach by working together
