Akan Malici is professor of international politics at Furman University. His scholarly interests are in the areas of American foreign policy, international security, and peace studies. Among his books are U.S. Presidents and Foreign Policy Mistakes (Stanford 2011), and Role Theory and Role Conflict in U.S.-Iran Relations: Enemies of Our Own Making (Routledge 2016).
