Basmah Dallas Activities
1.Full Time Hifz and Academic program –
BASMAH is an organization which is working for Rohingya Refugees and others in Bangladesh and around the world from 2017. In 2023, our board decided that BASMAH can focus on refugees inside the USA for education and development. Therefore, in 2024, BASMAH collaboratively worked with Islamic Center of Rowlett in Dallas for local Rohingya Refugees communities.
2. ESL Class – Finding English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for refugees is an important step in helping them integrate into their new communities and improving their job prospects. In 2024, BASMAH collaboratively started ESL Class with Islamic Center of Rowlett for Rohingya Refugee Children in Dallas area.
3. Citizenship class for refugee family when needed – BASMAH will start citizenship classes very soon with following steps:
i. Citizenship Classes: BASMAH will be prepared the course for citizenship classes with following topics: U.S. civics, History, English language preparation, Interview practice for the citizenship test
ii. Refugee Resettlement Assistance: BASMAH will be collaborate work with the assistance of the International Rescue Committee (IRC), Refugee Council USA, or Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service for citizenship or legal assistance programs tailored to refugees. They can connect the family with free or low-cost resources.
iii. Online Citizenship Prep: BASMAH will help for following online resources and classes to help prepare for U.S. citizenship. online English and civics courses, official study materials, including practice tests.
4. Food distribution – Food distribution programs for refugees’ family provide essential resources to help families meet their nutritional needs during resettlement. During the COVID time, BASMAH started charity work inside the USA, we distributed food and hygiene in Florida, New York and Michigan to Muslim community. Now, we already started food distribution program to Rohingya Refugee Families in Dallas area.
5. Youth development – BASMAH’s Youth development programs are designed to support the social, emotional, and academic growth of young people. These programs focus on helping youth build skills, confidence, and positive relationships while preparing them for adulthood. Here are some areas and types of youth development programs that can benefit a refugee family or any family seeking support for their children:
6. Job assistance for refugee family – Job assistance for refugee families is critical for helping them establish economic stability and integrate into their new communities. BASMAH strives to provide the refugee families with the resources that will help to establish them in a secure life. We provide several resources and programs specifically designed to help refugees find employment, develop job skills, and connect with local employers.
