Sadaqah is different. It’s any good thing you do for others. You can give sadaqah anytime, anywhere, to anyone. And guess what? Even a smile is sadaqah!
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Your smile for your brother is charity. When you remove stones or thorns from people’s path, that’s charity. When you help someone who is lost, that’s charity too.” (Bukhari)
This is amazing, right? You don’t need to be rich to give sadaqah. Every day, you can earn rewards from Allah just by being kind to others.

Sadaqah Jariyah: The Gift That Never Stops Giving Rewards

Some types of sadaqah are extra special. They keep giving you rewards even after you die! This is called Sadaqah Jariyah.
Think about it like this: If you plant a tree, people will eat its fruits for many years. If you build a school, children will learn there for decades. If you dig a well, people will drink clean water for a long time. All these good things keep happening because of your one act of kindness.
And here’s the best part – you get rewards from Allah for all the good that happens from your sadaqah, even after you pass away!
There’s a beautiful story about this. A man named Sa’d asked the Prophet ﷺ: “My mother died. What’s the best charity I can give for her?” The Prophet ﷺ said: “Water.” So Sa’d dug a well and

said: “This well is for my mother.” Every time someone drinks from that well, his mother gets rewards in the Akhirah.

Allah Promises to Remember Every Good Deed

Allah tells us in the Quran: “We bring the dead back to life and write down what they did and what they left behind. We keep track of everything in a clear book.” (Quran 36:12)
This means Allah never forgets your good deeds. Every time you give sadaqah, every time you help someone, Allah writes it down. And on the Day of Judgment, you’ll see all these good deeds waiting for you.

How Sadaqah Helps Poor Children Build Better Futures

Poor children face really hard lives. When kids don’t get enough food, they can’t grow properly. When they can’t go to school, they miss the chance to learn and get better jobs when they grow up.
