Water Crisis in Bangladesh
Around the world, 1 in 10 people still do not have access to clean and safe drinking water. While official data shows that 98% of Bangladesh is under basic water coverage, the reality is very different in remote and underserved communities. In many rural areas, people continue to rely on contaminated water sources, putting their health and lives at risk.
Who Suffers the Most
The burden of this water crisis falls heavily on women, children, and the elderly. Women often walk long distances every day to collect water, children miss school due to waterborne illnesses, and elderly people suffer from long-term health complications caused by unsafe drinking water. Clean water access remains a daily struggle for millions.
Clean Water as Sadaqah Jariyah
Providing clean water is one of the most rewarding acts of kindness in Islam. It is not just charityโit is Sadaqah Jariyah, a continuous charity that brings reward every time someone drinks, cooks, or performs wudu with that water. Even long after the well is built, the blessings continue to flow for the donor, in shฤโ Allฤh.

BASMAH Water Well Initiative
At BASMAH, we are committed to addressing this crisis by delivering sustainable clean water solutions across Bangladesh. Alhamdulillah, we have successfully built hundreds of clean water wells, providing free and safe drinking water to poor and remote communities where access was once a daily challenge.
Types of Water Wells We Build
To serve both families and large communities, BASMAH builds two types of water wells based on local needs.
Our Standard Water Well ($250) is designed for individual families. It supports their regular household needs such as drinking, cooking, and daily water use, ensuring dignity and safety in their everyday lives.
Our Community Water Well ($2,500) is a submersible pump system designed to serve large communities, including villages, schools, and masjids. This well provides reliable access to clean water for hundreds of people every day.
How Water Well Donation Works
When you donate a water well through BASMAH, your contribution directly supports well construction in high-need areas. Our team identifies water-scarce locations, oversees construction using safe and durable methods, and ensures the well is accessible to the communityโcompletely free of charge.
Long-Lasting Impact
A single water well can transform lives by improving health, reducing hardship, and restoring hope. Clean water protects families from disease, empowers women, supports education, and strengthens entire communities.
Give the Gift of Clean Water
Your water well donation is more than supportโit is a lifeline and a lasting legacy. By donating through BASMAH, you are helping vulnerable families in Bangladesh gain access to clean water while earning ongoing Sadaqah Jariyah.
