Your Sadaqah Can Save Lives: Bangladesh Flood Emergency

Your Sadaqah Can Save Lives: Bangladesh Flood Emergency

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

When Our Ummah Needs Us Most

SubhanAllah, imagine waking up to find water rushing into your home. Your children are crying, your mother is scared, and everything you own is floating away. This is what happened to 3 million of our Muslim brothers and sisters in Bangladesh this August.
The flood came so fast that families had no time to pack. They grabbed their children and ran. Many lost everything – their homes, their shops, their farms. Some families are still living on rooftops, waiting for help.

The Destruction That Broke Hearts

Let me tell you about Fatima, a widow with three young children. She sold vegetables to feed her family. When the flood came, it destroyed her small shop and her home. Now she has nothing left except her faith and her children.
There are thousands like Fatima across eight areas of Bangladesh:

  • 33,000 homes completely destroyed – imagine entire neighborhoods gone
  • Roads and bridges washed away – families can’t reach each other
  • Crop fields underwater – no food to harvest, no income for months
  • Schools and hospitals flooded – children can’t study, sick people can’t get help

The water came from heavy rains that lasted three days. It was like Allah was testing the patience and faith of our Ummah. The Gomti River overflowed and turned villages into lakes.

Allah Sent BASMAH as Their Helper

When disasters happen, Allah sends helpers through good people like you. BASMAH didn’t wait. We knew that every hour matters when people are hungry, thirsty, and homeless.
Our teams rushed to help with Almost 50 Thousand USD or 60 lakh in BDT, ready to serve our brothers and sisters. We remember what Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “A Muslim is a brother to another Muslim. He does not wrong him or abandon him.”

How BASMAH Brought Hope to the Hopeless

Feeding the Hungry: Families hadn’t eaten for days. Their kitchens were flooded, and their food was gone. BASMAH stepped in and delivered 10,000 kg of dry food—rice, lentils, oil—enough to help them survive for weeks. We also cooked and served 7,500 kg of hot meals, delivering 500 food packets every single day. When a starving child gets warm food in their hands, the smile on their face is priceless. This is the barakah of your donations.
Clean Water for Life: Floodwater was everywhere—but none of it was safe to drink. BASMAH provided 10,000 liters of clean bottled water, 5,000 water purification tablets, and 20,000 packets of oral saline to prevent dehydration and illness. For babies, mothers, and the elderly, this clean water meant survival. It meant life.
Light in the Darkness: When electricity was gone and the nights felt endless, BASMAH delivered 10,000 gas lights and 10,000 candles. It brought light to families sitting in complete darkness, helping them feel a little safer and more human again.
Medical Support When It Was Needed Most: Floods don’t just destroy homes—they bring disease and injury. Every day, our team of doctors served people in crisis. We gave daily medicine to 10,000 families throughout the entire flood period, all free of charge. Treating wounds, curing infections, and saving lives—this is the reward Allah promises for those who care for the sick.
Preserving Dignity for Women: During a crisis, women suffer silently. BASMAH distributed 5,000 sanitary napkins, helping women and girls manage their basic needs with dignity and cleanliness.
Rebuilding Lives, Not Just Relief: What makes BASMAH different? We didn’t stop at emergency aid. We built new homes for 30 families families who lost everything. These weren’t just tents—they were a new beginning. A safe place to sleep, to heal, to hope. We restored dignity to the broken-hearted.

Your Donation Becomes Sadaqah Jariyah

When you help BASMAH, your money doesn’t just buy food or medicine. It becomes ongoing charity that keeps helping people. Every meal we serve, every life we save, every home we build – you get the reward for all of it, even after you’re gone.

I’m on the advisory board of this great organization, Basmah. And I’m saying to you, from a man on the inside, they do a lot of incredible work. I’m amazed every day by more and more work; they don’t stop, they never stop.

The Crisis Is Not Over

The rain is still coming. More areas might flood. Poor families who lost everything need months to recover. Children need to go back to school. Farmers need to plant new crops. Shop owners need to restart their businesses.
Winter is coming too. Families living in temporary shelters will need warm clothes and proper homes. Pregnant mothers need safe places to give birth. Old people need medicine and care.
This is where your help can make the biggest difference.

A Message to Your Heart

My dear brother, my dear sister, close your eyes for a moment. Imagine if this happened to your family. Imagine if your children were hungry and you had no food to give them. Imagine if your parents were sick and you couldn’t afford medicine.
Wouldn’t you pray that somewhere in the world, a kind Muslim would help you? Wouldn’t you hope that someone would remember you in their duas and send whatever they could?
Today, Allah is giving you the chance to be that helping hand. Today, you can be the answer to someone’s prayer.

Why This Matters for Your Akhirah

The Quran tells us: “The example of those who spend in the way of Allah is like a grain that produces seven ears; in every ear there are a hundred grains” (2:261).
When you donate to help flood victims:

  • Your money multiplies in reward with Allah
  • You get hasanat (good deeds) every time someone benefits
  • You might save a life, which equals saving all humanity
  • You strengthen the bonds of our Ummah
  • You set an example for your children and family

The Time to Act Is Now

In Bangladesh, a mother is looking at her hungry children right now. A father is trying to find clean water for his family. An old man is shivering in the cold without a proper roof over his head.
They are waiting. They are praying. They are hoping that their Muslim brothers and sisters around the world will remember them.
Don’t let their prayers go unanswered.
Your small donation can bring big changes. Your sadaqah can turn someone’s tears into smiles. Your kindness can restore someone’s faith in humanity.
