2025 Ramadan Impact
In Ramadan 2025,During Ramadan, BASMAH launched an initiative to support vulnerable communities, providing daily Iftar meals to 10,000 individuals, including Rohingya refugees and underserved families. Over 300,000 people benefited from food packs distributed across 65 locations. This effort alleviated the challenges of Suhoor and Iftar preparation, enabling families to focus on spiritual practices. Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. During the month of Ramadan, healthy adult Muslims fast from dawn until dusk, abstaining from drinking, eating, immoral acts and anger.
Acts of worship such as prayer, reading the Qurโan and giving charity are also encouraged during Ramadan as blessings and rewards from Allah (SWT) are also multiplied during this holy month.
As the Islamic Calendar follows a lunar cycle (based on the moon phases), the exact dates of Ramadan change. As such, it rotates back by approximately ten days each year.
In 2026, Ramadan is expected to begin on the evening of Tuesday February 17, 2026. It will end on the evening of Thursday, March 19, 2026, depending on the sighting of the moon.
Last year, Ramadan started on Friday, February 28, 2025. In turn, it ended on Sunday, March 30, 2025. Eid al-Fitr then fell on the Monday, March 31, 2025, depending on the sighting of the moon.
Donations are processed in a queue by our system and should be taken about 24 hours from when you first signed up, every day until the month of Ramadan ends.
No โ there are no extra fees for using Daily Giving. There are 3rd party processing fees (fundraiseup) that we cannot avoid but otherwise your donation in its entirety goes into the allocated fund that you select. If you wish to cover the nominal Stripe fee, please increase your donation by a small amount.
We will send you an email notifying you that your payment was rejected. The payment will not be retried. We encourage you to visit basmah.org to complete a separate donation to make sure you catch the rewards of Sadaqah on that day.
Yes, you can schedule donations up until the last night of Ramadan if you so wish.
